The Dharana Method is a simple blend of Vedic, Buddhist and science-based meditation. It gets its name and primary concept, dharana, from a practical guide to peace called, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which is thousands of years old, yet inherently applicable to modern life. Within the 8 Limbs of Yoga, dharana is mentioned as the instruction to maintain a "single focus". During a struggle with depression and a back injury, the method's founder, Amanda B. Jones, realized that it was much easier to "slip in the gap" between thoughts (a Deepak Chopra-ism) when she used a point of focus in meditation. After just a few weeks utilizing this process of meditation, Amanda regained control over her emotions and physical body, and developed a newfound sense of gratitude and purpose (along with spontaneous weight loss!). Many hundreds of people have had this same success with The Dharana Method.
Hi, I'm Dani Jensen and I love sharing the gift of meditation! When I started meditating a few years ago, I had no idea what a profound change it would make in my life! After struggling with anxiety for many years, I finally understood that being able to look deep into myself was the key to controlling my emotions. Not only have I been able to achieve less stress in my life, but meditation has also taken me on a great journey toward clarity and balance in all things. After my training in the Dharana Method (100 Hr course), I started Mind Elevated to share this gift with others, so that they too may learn how to achieve balance and peace of their own minds. I truly love supporting others in achieving something I know matters to them. It is so satisfying to have students say "I really needed that!" or "I'm able to handle my life with more ease now!" My goal with Mind Elevated is to create a close knit community where people can come to be themselves- and realize they are not alone in wanting to understand themselves just a little bit more.
